Be Careful Which Way You Go…

An epitaph on a gravestone once read:

Remember friend as you pass by,

As you are now, so once was I.

As I am now,  thus you must be,

So be prepared to follow me.

Found beneath these inscribed words on the grave-marker were the following two lines,  apparently added by a concerned reader:

to follow you I’m not content,

until I know which way you went!

The greatest hindrance for us on the nature of God is man’s skewed perceptions.   From what we were told about Him,  from how He was depicted to us,  onto how we were taught either from childhood or even adults.

That God is God and he can never be changed by man’s perceptions. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He is the unchangeable God,  He is the eternal One.  In him there is no shadow of turning.  God is the creator of all things.  A created being is unable to perceive all things pertaining to the creator.  This from the fact that the Creator is obviously superior than the created being. Logic.

The greatest hindrance to man knowing God is his perceptions of who God truly is.  God makes himself known to ALL that seek him with all their heart. That is His irreversible promise.  Because God is perfect and can never lie.

God is the only rock upon which all of mankind can find assurance and be secure from the ravages  and the consequences of sin.  The bible says  “the wages of sin” …… is death.  But the gift of God is eternal life.  Absolutely free gift of life is through Jesus Christ,  and cannot be had anywhere else.  Jesus Christ has power to set us all free.  Free from whatever has bound our lives on this earth,  and freedom from hell in eternity.  But just a few statements from scripture on the true nature of who God really  is…..

Romans 5:8

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died on the cross for us.

Come and let us reason says the Lord Almighty,  though your sins are as scarlet I will make them white as snow.

Exodus 34

6.“The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;

7  who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished………”

From just the above three statements we learn many things about His nature.  That God….

1.  Is  Love, and His love never changes for us,  that we may be the most wicked of sinners and yet His love never diminishes for us…..even to shedding His blood for us.

2. That God gives us an invitation to come to him, though we are guilty as guilty comes, and he offers us to blot out our transgression,  or the record against us, and make us clean.  All for free,  and all for nothing in return.

3.  That he is compassionate, gracious,  slow to anger (patient with our infallibility).

4.  He is abundant in lovingkindness.

5.  He is abundant in truth.

6.  He forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; YET….He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.

If we were to come to God the Creator we have to come on his terms,  we have to come to who He is and who he says He is. We have to come to Him as he is.  We have to come to Him as he says he is or we have not come to Him at all. 🙂  We would just get some man’s religion and all such uselessness,  a deception,  and we would go into eternity without Christ Jesus. 🙂

Until later….be careful which way you go….  🙂

The Way of the People, or the Way of “The Way”?

It is very disturbing to see the grade of so called “christianity” from people who have positions in religious groups.  I see people who are in leading positions hate their estranged daughter-in-laws,  those refusing to forgive and restore relationships,  those helping people to blatantly lie.  Others hear one side of a story for their itching ears and hate and judge,  yet never finding out the other side of the story.  The bible calls that a wicked thing by the way.  Others amazingly preach divorce over enduring love and in so doing go against God’s commands.

Amazingly enough,  we think that the more people that agree with us the more leverage we will have in this life.  Oh what deception!  “That it is appointed for man once to die and then the judgement.”  God will tell those workers of sin and iniquity to get away from Him for he never knew them.

It is better to obey the instruction of the Holy One and be hated and spat on,  than to have a whole town stand by me while I lie, cheat, steal, slander and treat treacherously. 🙂  Oh wretched man that I am,  who can deliver me from this body of death.

My heart is broken for them,  that Satan has so deceived them in their hearts.  Have they not heard that “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”?  My heart breaks still further that the Holy One, his name is being marked as an unjust God.   It will be a terrible thing to be in the hands of the Mighty One on the day of judgement.  When great and small, rich and poor will all stand before Him and give an account of every thought, word and deed.

In the words of John the Baptist  in John 3.

“You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.
9 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

Oh my friends!!! Read these scripture verses I have posted and hear that these are not my words but come by His authority to all humanity.  For God so loved the world……  Jesus can forgive and make us clean by the blood he shed for us.

Hebrews 3
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’
11 As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’”
12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.
13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses?
17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?
19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
